Passion teamed up once again with director Robert Valley (creator of Ice and Zima Blue) for another striking entry in Netflix’s Emmy-winning animated anthology Love, Death + Robots. Created and executive produced by Tim Miller and David Fincher, with Jennifer Yuh Nelson, the series is known for championing bold, director-led storytelling, and 400 Boys is no exception.
In 400 Boys, Passion pushed Robert’s signature style into new territory, merging 2D and 3D to create something sharper, bolder, but still unmistakably, unapologetically Rob.This project was about moving forward without losing what makes Rob’s work unique. He bends tools and tech to serve his storytelling. The result is a film that doesn’t just look different, it feels different.
Set in a post-apocalyptic city ruled by gangs bound to a bushido-like code, 400 Boys follows the arrival of a new, enigmatic crew that threatens the fragile balance of power. It’s a story of chaos, honor, and forced unity, rendered with raw emotion, stylised motion, and hard-edged beauty.
