Office

Job Overview:

The role of runner is an entry level position, with no experience required, although an interest in animation and some relevant technical skills is essential. You must be available to work some evenings and weekends. The role of runner is not full time, you can expect to work 2-3 shifts a week (approx. 30 hours). This role is ideally suited so someone looking for their first job in animation as it will give you an invaluable insight into how a busy, successful production company functions.

Job Outline:

  • Ensuring the office runs smoothly day-to-day
  • Supporting the COO, Head Runner and Receptionist in any ad hoc tasks throughout the day
  • Keeping the office and meeting rooms tidy and organised
  • Supplying refreshments for any client meetings
  • Making local deliveries and collections
  • Covering reception when needed
  • Holding keys and alarm codes to the company building as you will sometimes open up in the mornings and lock up at night
  • Assisting in research and development on projects where needed
  • Feed and take our office dogs for walks throughout the day

Job requirements:

  • An interest in animation/ CG/ visual/ design/ illustration/ documentaries, working knowledge of animation programs such as Maya would be excellent.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel, adobe products and willingness to learn
  • Willingness to learn about advertising and commercials production terminology
  • Knowledge of CG process/ techniques/ terminology an advantage
  • Good personal and phone manner

Job Overview

The role of receptionist is full-time, requiring you to be in the office 5 days a week. The receptionist is the first point of contact for telephone calls and visitors to the company, you will manage the company telephone switchboard for all divisions of the company, connecting callers and taking messages where necessary, as well as monitoring the company’s info email inbox and forwarding enquiries to the appropriate teams. You will develop and utilise a basic knowledge of the company’s activities and key personnel including the company’s website content and social media channels.

Job overview

Passion are looking for a New Business Producer to join their team. You will be across every stage of the pitch process, working very closely with Commercials EP, from initial briefing with agency to final pitch submission.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting New Business team activities, working closely with EP.
  • Brainstorming with the wider New Business team which director or artist is suitable for an enquiry, assessing the enquiry with the production department in terms of feasibility.
  • Curate showreels in conjunction with the EP
  • Leading communication with the Client and Director during the pitch process.
  • Working closely with New Business Coordinator- booking and liaising with artists and crew during the pitch process and managing pitch budgets for each pitch with the EP.
  • Helping to create schedules & budgets with EP/HOP/production department team.
  • Helping to facilitate handover of project from pitch to award with the production team.

Studio

JOB OVERVIEW

The role would consist of internal coordination for projects, specifically Commercials. Seeing a project from start to finish, from concept art, to Coordination of the CG team, through to Delivery. The CG Coordinator will liaise closely with the project Producer, VFX Supervisor, Head of CG and the Artists.

REQUIRMENTS

A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role, Production company, Studio or Post house
Good understanding of CG, Animation, VFX workflows
A high level of organisational skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to multitask quickly and efficiently
Knowledge of scheduling software Shotgun would be an advantage

DUTIES

Work with Head of CG/ Studio Manager and Leads to schedule show and enforce delivery strategy
Attend scheduling meetings and provide daily information on delivery targets
Work with leads/artists to ensure targets are met and deadlines achieved
Chase outstanding elements as per Director/Supervisor/leads request
Work with editorial to ensure all relevant material for the show is correctly located
Generate playlists via Shotgun for daily internal reviews and bi-weekly CG Supervisor reviews
Record and issue feedback
Organise and set up bookings across all shows for internal reviews, CG Supervisor reviews, Director reviews and shot briefs
Conduct daily’s with Leads, taking notes and issuing internally to artists
Responsible for all notes, briefs, procedural changes to shots and committing all relevant data to relevant pages in Shotgun
Report any delays in correlation with the current schedule immediately, work with Producer to amend delivery schedule accordingly
This is a people-facing role and requires someone with the ability to balance and delegate tasks clearly and efficiently.

Legal

Passion Pictures are looking for a Paralegal to work within the Legal & Business Affairs team on various legal and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be able to take on a wide range of duties and complete them to a high professional standard. You must be resourceful, proactive and meticulous with faultless attention to detail.

The main duties of a Paralegal at Passion include but are not limited to:

  • Production and Development Support:
  • Managing onboarding processes required by new commissioners
  • Supporting the drafting of legal templates and (where required) liaising with commissioners for approvals of such templates
  • Compiling production start up packs containing all necessary templates, policies etc
  • Gathering information for project funding applications across all departments of Passion
  • Contract management including tracking and saving drafts and issuing signature copies
  • Drafting and reviewing confidentiality agreements
  • Drafting legal cheat-sheets for production
  • Liaising with insurers
  • Tracking and managing director representation agreements for Passion Animation
  • Supporting production in delivery of paper deliverables
  • Negotiating (with support and training) confidentiality agreements and location, contributor, and material releases

 

Rights Management:

  • Trade mark portfolio management including drafting and filing forms with the IPO
  • Reviewing current and past titles and relevant documents in order to maintain a detailed record of the rights Passion holds
  • Managing paper deliverables for distribution and other exploitation deals

Corporate:

  • Drafting and filing Companies House documents
  • Drafting and updating policies and protocols
  • Filing ICO registrations
  • Drafting and sending out legal company-wide communications (e.g. anti-bribery policies)

Miscellaneous Legal Support:

  • Setting up and maintaining legal systems and procedures
  • Running document comparisons and reviewing markups
  • Staying up to date on changes in the law and industry guidance and providing the Legal & Business Affairs team with briefing notes on any relevant changes

Administrative:

  • Researching, organising and attending training sessions for the Legal & Business Affairs team
  • Diarising deadlines and other significant dates (e.g. expiry of options, dates of rights reversion, etc)
  • Tracking and saving CAMA notifications
  • Sending invoices to the accounts team
  • Formatting documents
  • Managing DocuSign and saving fully signed agreements
  • Completing and updating timesheets
  • Organising meetings and circulating dial-in/video call details
  • Responding to requests for information and to DSARs
  • Organising legal files including identifying missing information (e.g. fully signed agreements)  and liaising with production departments to locate these
  • Organising notaries/independent solicitors as required

HR Support:

  • Supporting HR in the drafting and issuing of staff agreements
  • Liaising with external employment lawyers

This is a new role and will be adapted to the skills and experience of the successful candidate. The duties will be dynamic as the candidate learns and develops their skills whilst at Passion. We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Knowledge and interest in film and television, particularly animation and documentaries
  • Some experience and/or formal education in law with a commitment to a career in law
  • Highly motivated self-starter who will be willing and able to take on projects and see them through to completion
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Someone who will build strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and other third parties
