Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Sir Ian McKellen, Jean Reno, Andy Serkis… it sounds like a director’s career wish list of talent to work with, but Sam Fell employed them all at once on his first feature film when he co-helmed the 2006 critical and commercial CG success ‘Flushed Away’. He’d previously worked as a stop-motion animator/director, with numerous achievements under his belt for short films, commercials and TV series such as ‘Rex The Runt’,

which gave him a taste for long-form projects. Although he’s too modest to do his own name dropping, Sam has since made two more features; ‘The Tale of Despereaux’ and ‘ParaNorman’, which also starred a galaxy of Hollywood’s finest, including Casey Affleck, Anna Kendrick, John Goodman, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Watson, Kevin Kline, William H. Macy, Christopher Lloyd, Sigourney Weaver… OK, we’ll stop now.
