FIRE IN BABYLON is a truly authentic celebratory romp through modern Afro- Caribbean history. Using the remarkably successful West Indian cricket team of the 1970's as its focus, the film tells the story of struggle and emancipation, of racism and integration and ultimately of the glory derived across the whole of the West indies as Viv Richards and his men wreaked havoc and revenge against their former colonial masters.
"...a gripping new documentary... Fire In Babylon is a riot of sound and fury, a cavalcade of flying stumps and dented helmets, all set to a pulsing reggae soundtrack."
THE TELEGRAPH
"...a superb account of the rise of Clive Lloyd and Viv Richard’s West Indies cricket team, told thrillingly, with verve, music, pride and eloquence."
THE GUARDIAN
"...this one's a belter: Fire in Babylon, the story of how former "calypso cricketers" the West Indies smashed their former colonial masters into submission should bowl over audiences..."
