Featuring six printed visuals and a poignant, poetic 90-second film, this campaign, produced within Passion Paris studios in close partnership with TBWA Paris, represents a successful first collaboration between the young director and the commissioned films. “It’s a real pleasure to have had the opportunity to work on this project. Good things come in small packages as Marvel Animation’s cartoon shorts premiered with “Marvel’s Ant-Man” on Disney XD. The debut of these six new action-filled shorts gives viewers a peek into the life of Scott Lang as he battles Yellowjacket, finds common ground with Wasp, and creates a giant piece of cheese. You know, the typical super hero life. Title hero Scott Lang is voiced by Josh Keaton as he fights evil alongside the Wasp and Hank Pym, with occasional breaks to help his daughter Cassie with her homework. The series will be made up of six x 90 second animated directed by Ugo Bienvenu and Kevin Manach, written by Brian Wysol.

Commissioned by Netflix and created by Tim Miller and David Fincher, Love, Death & Robots returns for a second volume in the anthology of animated stories featuring dark comedy, terrifying creatures and wicked surprises. Based on the short story by Rich Larson, ICE, directed by Robert Valley is set in a future where many humans are enhanced with extraordinary strength and endurance, the “unmodded” feel left behind. This class-conflict drives a rift between two brothers who puts their lives at risk during a dangerous race.

Inspired by a queue of people outside a local fish and chip shop, this animated vignette tries to capture the joy of the Friday night staple here in the UK.

Future Power Station created this animated introduction for Sex Education‘s third season on Netflix. Directed by Runyararo Mapfumo with animation direction by Yibi Hu, the sequence reimagines the characters Lily (Tanya Reynolds) and Ola (Patricia Allison) as animated alien beings, Glenoxi and Starlanza, enacting a passage of sci-fi romance fiction that opens the seventh episode of the new season.

Before becoming Guardians of the Galaxy, Rocket & Groot were just your average, everyday bounty hunters. The series follow the fan-favourite duo as they try to figure out how to get enough credits to buy a new ship after their old ship breaks down. The compilation special features 12 original shorts, based on a design by famed comic book artist, Skottie Young, and directed by Arnaud Delord. In Episode 11, Rocket and Groot are still struggling to earn enough credits to buy a new ship. After looking at a series of bounty adverts, Rocket uncovers that one of the largest bounties is on his companion, Groot. Will Rocket forfeit friendship for a new ship? All episodes in the series are available to watch on Marvel’s YouTube channel.

In an effort to bolster its cultural tool and portfolio, Google Arts & Culture is developing a page dedicated to Mali, with a mixed media film directed by Passion Paris’ Axel Digoix. Through this film which follows the world renowned and emblematic Ali Farka Touré and his famous taxi-bike, we get to journey across Mali traveling to the sounds of Touré’s song ‘Howkouna‘. Performed by more than 10 different musicians throughout Mali, the music of the film becomes a trail of breadcrumbs, guiding us in through the wonders of the country. By choosing to produce this film in mixed media, Google Arts & Culture gave Axel Digoix free reign to work his magic by putting together a super colorful artistic direction. The animation is peppered throughout the different live action sequences, and creates a poetic atmosphere where music, film and animation come together in perfect harmony. Axel Digoix had already directed two video clips in 2D for the Malian group Tinariwen, so this new project came as a natural continuation for him, as well as an exciting challenge which he embraced with passion. At the end of this journey of discovery, by Ali Farka Touré’s side, we can’t help but feel a sense of wonder and amazement from the kaleidoscope of Mali’s culture and history. Passion Paris is proud to have supported Axel Digoix in this new project.

The Headspace Guide to Sleep is an 7 episode animated series streaming now, only on Netflix! Each episode is narrated by Eve Prieto where she explores how exercise, stress, alcohol, medication, meditation, phone screens, and more effect the quality of our sleep. Two episodes were produced by Strange Beast. Episode 6, ‘Putting Insomnia to Bed’ is directed by Tom McCarten and Greenhouse member Daniel Stankler. This episode looks at how we can deal with stresses to unpack the causes of insomnia through visualisation, music and quiet activities.

Commissioned by Netflix and created by Tim Miller and David Fincher, Love, Death & Robots is a collection of 18 animated short stories that span the science fiction, fantasy, horror and comedy genres. The production united a global animation community, calling on the talents and unique perspectives of innovative animation studios, directors and artists from around the world – and we were delighted to be involved! Zima Blue is a ten minute episode within Love, Death & Robots, directed by Robert Valley and produced by Cara Speller. Based on the original short story by Alastair Reynolds, Zima Blue is set thousands of years in the future and follows Claire Markham, a journalist invited to witness the unveiling of the artist Zima’s final piece. Zima is a colossal figure in the art world and a truly enigmatic individual – an exclusive interview is impossible to refuse. Claire accepts the invitation and discovers the origins of Zima’s existence, his journey to find his own truth, and the root of his obsession with the colour “Zima Blue”. Disney Channel’s latest original animation series 101 Dalmatian Street is inspired by Dodie Smith’s 1956 novel and Walt Disney’s 1961 film 101 Dalmatians. 101 Dalmatian Street is a modern family comedy set in 21st century London, which follows the adventures of eldest Dalmatian step-siblings Dylan and Dolly, their parents Delilah and Doug, and their big barking blended family of 97 younger brothers and sisters, whose names also all begin with ‘D’. With two working parents and no human owner, there’s a lot of pressure on Dylan and Dolly to keep the home fires burning, despite the fact that they’re still just kids who want to do their own thing. Chaos and comedy are unleashed as they try to balance furry fun with family duty. Oscar® and BAFTA winning Passion Animation Studios, headquartered in the UK and employing an international crew of more than fifty artists, serve as lead producers for the series, with Atomic Cartoons in Vancouver providing animation services. 101 Dalmatian Street was developed by Disney’s UK-based original animation team working with Gigglebug Entertainment in Helsinki, who provided concept development and are creating short form and digital content to accompany the series. 101 Dalmatian Street has been commissioned for 10 x 2’ shorts, 40 x 11’ episodes, and 5 x 22’ specials.

His disease had whittled him down to a shadow of his former self. He was crippled from a car accident when he was 17 but that’s not how he lost his big toe. He lost that in a motorbike accident, yeah he was broken alright… what the hell was he fighting for anyway and what was he still doing in China? His father had given me two clear instructions: 1. Get Techno to stop drinking long enough to receive the liver transplant, and 2. Get him back home to Vancouver. This was not going to be easy.

Directed by MegaComputeur, ‘Hors Piste’ (Off-Piste) is a six-minute, CG-animated comedy-adventure centred on two mountain rescue experts called Salami and Parmesan. Despite being the best at their job and ever-primed for action, their latest mission is doomed to go awry. Named as ‘Best Animation’ at the BAFTA Student Film Awards 2019, ‘Hors Piste’ beat tough competition this year which saw 550 submissions – a record – from 38 countries. The film has made selection lists for numerous international film festivals. It was nominated for the student film Annie Award this year, and recently won the student film Genie Award from the Paris Images Digital Summit.
