Isle of Dogs

By Mark Waring

Mark Waring was the Animation Director on Wes Anderson’s second stop frame feature, Isle of Dogs. To keep the feel of the film as authentic as possible, special effects were created using physical materials and textures, using cotton wool for smoke or cling film for water. The fur of the dogs was kept moving to breathe life into the characters. The animation itself was shot with a mixture of single frames and double frames to give it a sense of movement and energy.
