Employing cutting-edge filmmaking techniques since the beginning of a career that started in his native New Zealand and spanned LA and Sydney, working for the likes of Disney, Warner Brothers and Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, Dan Sumich has always been a filmmaking pioneer. Since joining Passion in the mid-90s, he’s established himself as one of the most innovative directors in the industry by mastering every discipline, from live-action to CG, stop-motion and even time-lapse animation.

He’s worked with iconic characters like the Peanuts gang and Gorillaz, but is equally adept at creating his own, as seen in the frenetic CG action film The Butterfly Effect, conceived and written by Dan and created entirely in a videogame engine.
