Five Came Back

Spielberg, Coppola, Del Toro, Kadsan & Greengrass. Our new Netflix docuseries, FIVE CAME BACK, about Hollywood and WWII lands on March 31st!

The series tells the story about how Hollywood impacted World War II and vice versa. It examines the actions of five filmmakers who left their careers to serve during the war — John Ford, William Wyler, John Huston, Frank Capra, and George Stevens — and then came back to inform the world of what was happening through their craft.

With narration by Meryl Streep and interviews with some of the best directors of our generation — Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, Guillermo del Toro, Paul Greengrass and Lawrence Kasdan — this is Netflix Originals three-part docu-series adapted from Mark Harris’ best-selling book, Five Came Back: A Story of Hollywood and the Second World War.

Oscars Nomination

A massive congratulations to Passion Director Robert Valley who has just been announced as a nominee at the 89th Academy Awards for his animated short film ‘Pear Cider and Cigarettes’.

The awards take place on Sunday, the 26th of February in Los Angeles with Passion’s EP Cara Speller attending the ceremony. Good Luck Rob!

Justino Keeps Winning

The Gunn Report for 2016 has just been realised with some outstanding results for Passion Pictures. Loteria ‘Night Shift’ ranked 1st in the Most Awarded Film Ads in the World category, beating Harvey Nicols ‘Shoplifters’ and John Lewi’s ‘Tiny Dancer’ commercials. Passion directors, againstallodds (who directed Loteria) were also mentioned, ranking 2nd in the Most Award Directors in the World. As an industry-wide, international study, Passion’s rankings affirm what a successful year 2016 was for our studio.

StrangeLove sign Marco Prestini

It’s an exciting time for our sister company, Strange Love, with the announcement that director Marco Prestini will be joining their roster of live-action directors. During his career, the Italian-born director has helmed promos, commercials, fashion films and shorts for artists/brands including GGDB Records, Star*, Clockbeats and Aucan.

The director’s most recent piece of work was for Golden Goose Deluxe Brand. We’re expecting big things from the new Marco and StrangeLove partnership, so keep an eye out!

Justino Wins an Annie

A huge congratulations to ‘Night Shift’ by againstallodds for winning Best Animated TV/Broadcast Commercial and Rob Valley’s ‘Pear Cider and Cigarettes’ for winning Best Animated Special Production at the 44th Annie Awards held in L.A over the weekend. The results from the Annie’s are usually seen as a precursor to the Academy Award winners, and with Rob Valley’s film nominated in the Animated Short Category, we’re hoping this turns out to be true!

Passion’s Executive Producer, Cara Speller, accepted both awards on the night.
